THE SOUND LODGE

A community based project inspired by music and culture in Sheffield. To building's aim was to create an environment that promotes musical education, skill-building and bridge the gap between the youth and older generations. Creating an additional social environment to show case the talents and progression of the users of the space, or other talent. 
All of the materials inside the buildings, such as the woods, helped the acoustics resonate through the building. (Fun fact: the wood types are actually used to make real guitars).

FOOT LOOSE

A hospitality project based on the idea of rock climbing and a hostel. It used inspiration from the peak district, which is nearby to the chosen building in Sheffield. This was reflected in the materials used, such as rock sourced from the peaks, wood and natural glass. The double height atrium gave guests the opportunity to practice rock climbing before venturing out into the wildness of the peak district.
